Quality Assurance has been one area where off-shoring to India can work well in
the traditional SDLC. Developers check in code at the end of the day in the U.S.
and quality assurance analysts in India can test overnight. We have talked with
many organizations that have had success with this model. In a more Agile environment
QA usually needs more interaction with the team, so the time zone issues can become
a problem. Also, the level of testing usually remains fairly simple with the integration
and regression testing still taking place within the on-shore QA.
